Rouen-Vallée de Seine Airport plays a strategic role in the Normandy region, facilitating regional mobility and supporting local economic development. Since its acquisition by SEALAR, the airport has integrated an ambitious CSR approach into its management, designed to structure, strengthen, and complement existing initiatives. Every action is part of acontinuous improvement, guided by a sustainable vision and a concrete commitment to reducing environmental impact, valuing employees, and contributing to the region's economic vitality.
Taking action for a more sustainable planet
Rouen-Vallée de Seine Airport is actively committed to reducing its environmental impact and protecting natural resources. This approach relies both on concrete initiatives already in place and on the progressive implementation of new actions, within a framework of continuous improvement. Each project aims to reconcile airport performance with environmental responsibility, to contribute to a more sustainable future.
Assess, control and reduce environmental impact
To better understand and reduce its impact, SEALAR has established an environmental steering committee comprised of employees from each of the group's airports and works closely with Envisa, an expert in airport environmental management. This cross-functional team coordinates actions between the different entities and proposes new initiatives. This collective monitoring allows for the regular evaluation of practices and the implementation of effective solutions to limit the airport's environmental footprint.
Reduce our carbon emissions
As part of its CSR policy, SEALAR is supporting Rouen Vallée de Seine Airport in the gradual implementation of measures to reduce its carbon footprint. Although the site is not yet certified, the airport aims to eventually join the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Level 2, in line with a continuous improvement approach and in accordance with other airports in Normandy.
Among the planned initiatives, replacing the lighting system with LED solutions equipped with occupancy sensors will significantly reduce electricity consumption. These actions are part of a comprehensive approach to reducing carbon emissions, in line with SEALAR standards, and aim to gradually raise awareness among teams, partners, and users about the importance of the energy transition in the aviation sector.
Protecting biodiversity and preserving natural environments
Rouen Airport collaborates with the Aéro Biodiversité to protect and enhance the natural areas on the site. These often overlooked zones are veritable biodiversity hotspots. Regular surveys allow for the identification and monitoring of local flora and fauna in order to implement appropriate protection measures.
In 2025, an insect hotel was also installed on the site, promoting local biodiversity and providing habitat for pollinators and other species useful to the airport ecosystem.
Reduce and recycle waste
The airport is committed to improving the sorting, reduction, and recycling of its waste. The environmental team is working to identify areas for improvement, in line with SEALAR standards and best practices observed at other group sites.
Reduce our water consumption
Rouen-Vallée de Seine Airport is committed to more responsible water management. The environmental team is actively working to identify solutions and areas for improvement to optimize the use of this precious resource and reduce future consumption.
In parallel, this approach prepares the ground to raise awareness, from their implementation, among employees and partners of good practices related to water, so that every action contributes to a sustainable and coherent management of the site's resources.
Take noise pollution into account
To reduce the impact of air traffic on local residents, Rouen Airport offers a noise pollution reporting form. This system allows residents to share their observations and helps the airport adjust its practices to improve coexistence with the surrounding area.

Rouen-Vallée de Seine Airport is committed to reducing its environmental impact. By optimizing its resources, limiting its emissions, and preserving biodiversity, the airport is taking concrete action for the planet. Every initiative involves employees and partners in a sustainable, innovative, and environmentally responsible approach.

Staff exchanges with Le Havre-Octeville Airport allow for the pooling of expertise and strengthened teamwork. More broadly, participation in the Normandy Airports Association fosters synergies at the regional level, with joint initiatives and shared projects among the four airports. These actions contribute to building strong relationships, reinforcing cohesion, and developing a sustainable regional culture of collaboration.
Talent and career development
Rouen-Vallée de Seine Airport is actively committed to raising awareness of airport careers and encouraging professional development within the sector. In November 2025, a career presentation was organized in partnership with the Normandy Career Guidance Agency and Normandie AeroEspace, allowing young talent in the region to better understand the opportunities offered by the aeronautics industry. This initiative is part of a series of efforts aimed at promoting skills, inspiring vocations, and enhancing the appeal of airport-related professions.
Inclusion and civic engagement
The airport is preparing to welcome six 3rd year interns between December 2025 and February 2026, allowing local young people to discover the inner workings of an airport site and gain a first enriching experience.
